The purpose of these awards are not just to get a link back from any page or to bribe you into signing the guestbook. The purpose of these awards are to be granted to the select few that fit the theme and criteria that each award was created for.

The decision of granting an award is made by a select panel.

That said, it is understood that most people that have gone to the
trouble, love and time to build a pet site feel that when they apply
for an award that they are offering a privilege to the award giver.
If you are not selected for the award this does not mean your site is not good or even excellent. It simply means that it does not fit
the criteria or the theme of the award. If you are to be awarded
one of Mak's awards, you will be contacted within two weeks of submission. If you do not hear from us within two weeks, then your site was not chosen at this time. A unanimous decision must be made by the entire panel for the award to be given.

If you are still interested in applying for an award, the following information will give you some idea of what we are looking for:

Memorial Award:

1) A memorial site dedicated to one individual pet.

2) A site that obviously took a lot of thought, love, time and heartache to build and then share.

3) A site that reflects the specialness of the pet that it is in tribute to.

First Class Award

1) This award can be given to either a memorial page or any page
that relates to your pets.

2) A site that obviously took a lot of thought, love,  and time to build.

3) A site that reflects the specialness of the pet or pets  that it
is in tribute to.

Further Guidelines for each award

1) A discriminating site as relates to awards. (A site with pages and pages of awards will probably not be considered)

2) A site that is so special that it moves every member of the panel.

3) Size of the site is not important. Each member of the panel will
spend whatever time it takes to go through the memorial pages. But, quality of the layout of the site is an important consideration.

4) A site that contains pornography or links to a site with pornography, or contains content not suitable for any age group will automatically be disqualified.
